War in the galaxy: While the Jedi Knights fight on the side of the Galactic Republic, they are dealing with separatists, who are also supported by dark Sith Lords. Under the guidance of Grand Master Yoda, Mace Windu, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and many other Jedis must prove themselves in the fight against the dark forces and for the security of the Republic. They receive support from the clone warriors who are loyal to Chancellor Palpatine - but he pursues his own goals in the hidden. The clone wars are spreading incessantly in the galaxy. Supreme Chancellor Palpatine attracts Jedi Knights Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin for an attack on Muunilinst, a separatist stronghold. When the Jedi set out to lead the army of the Republic to the new front, Anakin has to say goodbye to his secret love, Padmè Amidala. George Lucas re-opens the "Star Wars" chapter on the clone wars - as a pithy, purely digital war spectacle with the well-known heroes of the saga. Who kidnapped the baby from Jabba the Hutt? The Jedi Knights! That's what Lord Dooku, leader of the separatists and their droid army, claims - trying to win over Jabba as an ally against the Jedis. But even those are dependent on the favor of the space ghost, so they send Anakin Skywalker and his student Ahsoka to find the baby. The content of the "Clone Wars" story is not profound, with the focus on the warfare between the clone warriors of the Republic and the droid army of the insurgents. "This war is a patchwork of untold stories," says George Lucas. And so this movie is just the prelude to more episodes that are to follow as a CGI animated TV series. The effects and the modern look are quite spectacular. Getting used to it, however, is to see the heroes of the real films as animated characters reduced to a rather frugal facial expressions. Thanks to the dominance of the fighting sequences, the 114 minutes of the film are still flying by.
